Frequently Asked Questions

Going to anything new--a new school, a new job, or new church, can be an intimidating experience. We want your visit at Grace to be pleasant and non-threatening. In order to make your first visit as easy as possible, we've tried to anticipate some questions you might have:

Where do I park?
Parking is available in lots west and north of the church building. Additional parking is available in USA Gym Supply’s south lot, Central Kansas Christian Academy’s lot (both across the street to the west of GCC), and in Heartland Cancer Center’s lot just to the east of the church.

What entrance do I use?
The closest entrance to the sanctuary area and the Welcome Center is through the doors on the west side of the building. The east entrance (under the awning) will also give you immediate access.

When do I need to arrive?
Our worship services begin at 8:40 & 10:45 a.m., with Sunday School (children) and ABF (Adult Bible Fellowships) beginning at 9:50 a.m. Our sanctuary usually has plenty of seats, but arriving five or ten minutes ahead will ensure that you get the seats where you feel most comfortable.

How should I dress?
People at Grace tend toward the casual. A few wear sport coats and ties, but many are in jeans and t-shirts. Ladies often wear slacks. Come in whatever you deem appropriate or comfortable.

How long will the service last?
We plan for about one hour. Although we don't live by the tyranny of the stop watch, we usually run pretty close to that time frame.

Will you be having a communion service the day I visit?
We take the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of the month. All believers, no matter their church affiliation, are invited to participate.

Will you single me out as a visitor or make me stand up?
We will gladly welcome you as you come through the door and give you directions if you need them. The Welcome Center will have a gift if you stop by, but we will not embarrass you or have all visitors stand.

Will I need a Bible?
You do not have to bring a Bible. We project the words of the sermon text on the screen, and the Scripture is read aloud. We do recommend you have a Bible if you are able.

Will I be expected to give during the offering?
Our offerings are meant to be an act of worship between each person and God. If you are without a church home and you desire a place to give God your offering, then by all means, do so. If you are committed elsewhere, then please be our guest. We do not expect guests to contribute.

Is your sanctuary handicap accessible?
Yes, our building is on one level, and the restrooms off the sanctuary are handicap ready.

What do I do with my infant or toddler during the worship service?
We have 2 nurseries: our infant nursery is for ages 0-18 months; our toddler nursery is for ages 18-36 months. We have a pager system to contact you during the service should your child need you. Greeters at the entryways or the Welcome Center can direct you to the nursery locations.

Do you have something for young children during church?
We have Lil’ Grace Place (children’s church) during the entire worship service (second service only) for ages 3-pre-K. The children learn about Jesus’ love in a fun and interactive way. Children’s church meets August-May.

Grace Place is children’s church for Kindergarten-2nd grade. The children start out in the service with their parents and then are dismissed from the service (second service only) before the sermon. Children’s church meets August-May.

Quiet bags are provided for children during the first service each Sunday and for all children during the summer months.

Do you have a child safety policy?
Volunteers who work with anyone under the age of 18 are carefully screened to ensure the safety of your children. All volunteers must pass a complete criminal background check, complete an application, and provide references.

Can I keep my children with me during the worship service?
Yes, families are always welcome to worship together, if that is their desire.
